In 2019 Pace University embarked on the renovation of the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the west wing of the University’s flagship building at 1 Pace Plaza. The three floors were gut renovated after not having been upgraded since the 1980’s. The completed spaces includes classrooms, case study rooms, student congregating spaces, screening rooms and the Lubin School of Business faculty and administration.
Pace University engaged DBI Projects for the project management of the renovation. Having close oversight on the project budget, schedule and management of the CM and design consultants.
The renovation, which was contracted prior to the COVID-19 pandemic required an expedited schedule after a one year pause in order for students to occupy the space in time for the start of the 2022 school year. During the demolition of the existing spaces, extensive water infiltration was found requiring investigation to the buildings envelope, which further compounded the already condensed schedule. The project was successfully completed in September 2022 in time for student occupancy.
