Cooke School & Institute is an organization committed to the inclusion of people with special needs into their communities. At 713 Madison Avenue New York, NY the Institute embarked on a new facility that serves and provides special education services for grades K-12, and young adults 18-21.

Levien & Company was engaged to provide owner’s representative and project management for the entirety of the the project. As an interim project manager, I provided oversight in the pre-construction planning included site work, foundation design, community engagement, logistics, environmental impact analysis and assessments in addition to budget management and financial compliance with lenders.

Project challenges included foundation design and coordination around adjacent properties, access agreements, securing construction financing and coordination with surrounding existing NYCHA facilities.
